MedXplore Biomedical Competition 2026

Research Embedded Software Arduino Machine Learning Motor Control

Overview

48-hour intensive biomedical engineering design competition by MedXplore. Our team focused on addressing challenges encountered during post-operative rehabilitation for patients with muscle atrophy.

The goal of our idea was to reduce the return-to-life period for patients with post-operation muscle atrophy, specifically targetted at lower extremeties. Myotronic is an wearable exoskeleton concept that is intends to use a force-feedback control loop to accelerate the user's recovery timeline from a standard 12 months down to a shorter window.

Technical Details

  • Current market evaluation is at $1.3~1.4 billion, expected to grow to $2 billion by 2033.
  • Approximately 6,600,000 knee injuries are treated annually in the US alone.
  • MAaa
  • Caa

Impact

  • Developed a business model using a lower exoskeleton for rehabilitation assistance for post-op patients with muscle atrophy.
  • Placed 2nd in the Muscular category.
